When Melrose meets Fairfax

Every weekend on the corner of Fairfax and Melrose, vendors from across the greater LA area set up shop in the parking lot of Fairfax High School. This, is the Fairfax Flea Market. Complete with the usual eclectic mix of high and low brand used clothing (and of course the ever so conspicuous mink coat or two), the Fairfax Market also brings together skilled artisans.Virtually a maze of pop-up tents, the aisles are lined with ornately embellished picture frames, industrial light-bulb sculptures, vintage records, cameras, typewriters, and leather bags. Suffice to say it's incredibly easy to lose track of time.
The cherry on top of it all?
The prices are unbeatable.

cheers to fall

What do you think of when the word fall pops in your head?
Sweaters? Elections? Pumpkin spiced lattes? Holidays? Turkey? Overly boisterous relatives? parties?
For the sake of this post, we're just going to go with the latter. (so poll-checking-sweater-wearing-turkey-eaters bear with me here.)
It's always a challenge selecting the perfect outfit for a night out, especially when you run the risk of getting hypothermia on a chilly fall night. Personally, I love layering jackets(in this case, a camel prepschool blazer) over a polished dress or skirt combo. A pattern underneath gives the entire outfit a little more attitude while satin heels boost formality.

cheers!
